At the moment it looks as though hats and gloves/mittens are the favourites.

I have a couple of patterns picked out so I can go with either result. A two coloured hat or some beaded gloves. Decisions, decisions. Laughing Wink

If its gloves/mitts, I'm making these.

I really like her patterns. They are usually any gauge, any yarn. Nice when I don't have to go buy special yarn for a project.

I've had a request from DGS for some new monster mitts (Later Gator mitts)
as his are getting too small for him. So I may have to knit these first.

So as the results are pretty evenly split,

hat, gloves or mittens

it is.

Tell us about the project you've picked, and let us know how you're getting on.

I was going to do thrummed mittens, but all my yarn is still at my mother's house. I'm going to play with what I have here instead, lol!

I changed my mind about my mittens... again Laughing I tried to knit a double-knit mitten, but could not get my brain around that technique (I have TMILB - temporary motherhood-induced loss of brain), so I improvised a simple fair-isle mitten with two skeins of Bernat Mosaic. I'm in the middle of the hand of the first mitten. This should be a quick knit and I hope to have new mittens for the week-end Smile

How are you doing on your projects?

I've just threaded my beads onto my yarn and will cast on shortly.

How's everybody doing?

I cast on, and knitted the first repeat (40 rows), then realised that as I wanted long gloves, I should have knitted a repeat before starting the thumb gusset on row 9. Sad So now I'm going to have short, beaded fingerless mitts instead. Very Happy

I haven't worked on them in a week, though, as I've been sidetracked by my latest (now finished) socks.

I knit an entire mitten out of Bernat Mosaic yarn I had bought to try out. It turns out I really dislike the yarn. The mitten looks very nice, but the fabric is very dense and rough and it pills like nobody's business. There will not be a second mitten to finish this pair. Instead I will start over with an unfinished project I found in my stash. First I need to finish some gift knitting though Smile

Somehow, I just could not seem to get my mind into knitting the mitts I was going to make for my dil.

But, I had some yarn leftover from a scarf I knit my granddaughter's teacher for Christmas, and I am knitting her a matching hat from the same pattern I used to knit my grandson a hat. His was on size 7 needles and hers is on size 9...so going up more quickly.
