Here is a story about Noel, a rescued dog, that was used to teach other dogs to fight and sadly she has no ears. It is a tear jerker. But Noel needs ears to cover her ear holes from wind and debris. Here is a link to the story and to Bernie, the wonderful person who took Noel in. The pattern uses very little yarn and is for a good cause. So get out your stash and knit some Noel ears.

Don't mean to make anyone sad but the story has ended happy and Noel has a loving family now

This is so touching Debbie, thanks for sharing. I just can't believe people are so cruel to still have dog fights!

Debby...that was such a tear jerker. I have never heard about such a practice called, "bait dog", and I am appalled.

Something in you changes after reading that post.

Poor little thing. I can't believe anybody could be so cruel, or that Noel is so friendly despite it all.

I so love that this story has a Happy ending. I am always still shocked and cannot for the live of me understand how anyone can do this to an Animal. At least Noel will have so much Love now she won't know what to do with:)

Noel does wear the ears. It protects her ear canals

DebbyK,
Thanks for sharing Noels story with us. So glad she has Bernie to love & take care of her. I have A Place to Bark on my favorites but haven't visited it for awhile so I didn't know about Noel.(computer was down-lost everything on it.)As soon as I can stop crying I'm going through my stash to find the perfect yarn for ears for Noel.
Thanks Inukshuk71 for the link to the pattern.
