Hi

I am relatively new to knitting. I have been knitting for about a year or maybe a little less. I was also a quilter which was my passion until I started knitting. I have a fabric stash for quilting but now I also have a yarn stash for knitting.

I'm single, no kids but a wonderful niece and two terrific nephews and a greatniece and greatnephew for whom I have knitted a couple of sweaters.

I think this is a wonderful site. I will be here often.

Pam

Those stashes do multiply, don't they. Very Happy

Welcome aboard, Pam.

I used to be a cross stitcher until I took up knitting, and still have the stash for that, but haven't really touched it in several years!

Welcome to the forum Pam! So glad you found us!
I have fond memories of running the Virginia Beach half marathon several years ago. It's a beautiful city with an awesome aquarium.

Hey, Pam.. Come on in and set a spell... Good to have you here...

I lived in your neck of the woods for a time when DH and I were stationed at Ft. Eustis... My Elder Son (ES) was born at Langley AFB...

Hello and welcome, Pam. I, too, am a cross stitcher who took up knitting. I started knitting when most of my kids were very little because cross stitching just took up too much time and space. Knitting is very portable when wandering around outside with the wee ones. Now, my kids are older, except for the surprise little one who was born 2 years ago. I keep something small going all the time so I can work on it while he's busy collecting rocks and stuff outside. Very Happy

How funny! My granddaughter, who is just a few months older than Henry, loves to pick up and "collect" rocks, too. I guess it is something about that age. Smile

Sorry I didnt respond sooner. I am still learning my way around the site. I have already gotten some great advice from people to the few questions I have asked. And thank you all for making me feel so welcomed.

This is a great site. We have a local knitting group but it meets in the evenings and I work until 8 pm so it's too late to make the meeting. My job will probably end at the end of Jan 2011 so I'm looking forward to joining our local knitting guild after that. But this place is like have a guild meeting any time. It's great.

thanks
Pam

The beauty of the internet, I agree, this is the perfect format.
