Hi All

Not too sure how to do this, first time

I have been a knitter for about 40 years, a real passion.

Just finished a hooded sweater from Knit N Style for my oldest daughter and now have to make one for her sister

Hey ladies!! I am so excited that I found a forum so I can pick all of your experienced knitting brains Smile. I am very new to this and really don't know how to knit anything, besides just knitting in general and ending up with a nice rectangle or something hahaha. I was wondering you ladies could help me with knitting a simple baby blanket. I wanted to make the separate pieces and put them together. Does anyone know how I can put the pieces together? Thanks sooooo much!!!!

Welcome, Kathy!

I must admit, despite knitting for many years, I've never tackled a blanket in pieces! I look forward to hearing how you get along!

Hey!

Yes, well I found a link that shows you how to stitch in between the pieces using a darning needle with the same knitting thread so i will let you guys know how it goes. I am not skilled with patterns or anything so I am just knitting away. Hopefully one of you out there has some advice on this! Thanks for the support!

Welcome Priya Smile I always find the information on www.knittinghelp.com very good and easy to understand thanks to the many available online videos If you want to learn about different finishing techniques to assemble your blanket, you can click HERE and scroll down to the "Finishing" section and click on the different videos there.

Hope this helps!

Hi Priya and welcome. I am knitting a baby blanket in squares but I haven't done enough to sew up yet. I was planning to use a whip stitch I found in the Happy Hooker crochet book. You sew into the end of the pieces and pull them together so they just touch.

Would like to know if you find something different.

Hi Kathy glad you found us. You'll get the hang of it in no time.
