I see, so the points are already knitted in there and you just pull them out when blocking. Awesome. I think I'm going to need more pins though. I have about 40 quilting T pins but I don't think that's enough at all, haha. I'll figure something out. Walmart run when I'm done knitting it, lol.

Thanks for the advice & the link as will come in handy when I block my shawl. Other than afghans, I've never blocked anything like a shawl.

YAY! A knitting buddy! haha. I'm SO excited!

I can wait until then. I just ordered the knitpick options set so I have to wait on it to come before I can start anyway. I was going to try it on a Boye circular but we ALL know they are worthless! I can't get my stitches over their horrible joins...so I'm waiting. I also need to turn my hank of yarn into a BALL of yarn, lol.

I think the knitpicks will be awesome because some people use the holes that you turn the keys in and put a string in and it puts your lifelines in for you. I think that's LOVELY because it saves me time without messing me up, lmao.

Let me know when you are ready to start and we can work on this together Smile

Kelly
I allready have my yarn picked out!
Did a bit of surfing and found some one who had done the shawl in 4ply and on a 5mm bamboo circular needle.
The yarn I have chosen is the most beautiful I have in my stash which I purchased last year at a knit and Stitch show!
The colours remind me of the heather found on the Scottish highlands.
We stayed on holiday at Loch Ness a few years ago and I would love to go and live there eventually!
I would love to start the shawl tomorrow but due to Paypal sending an e-cheque and not an instant payment I now have to wait untill the 15th before downloading the pattern Mad
September 1st is my date to start the shawl.
Maybe that will give me time to finish all my other W.I.P's.
Can't wait Buddy Very Happy

awwww, paypal stinks! I'm very excited to start this. I'm going to be making mine of Sheafer Anne in the HotShot color way....pretty oranges and reds that remind me of the fall leaves here...which is perfect because I'll be using it for fall, lol.

I can't wait to start our knit a long. I want to wear this thing EVERYWHERE, lol.

Wouldn't dream of it! I have the yarn and pattern...but yarn isn't yet wound and needles are on their way. Just got an email from knitpicks today saying they have officially been shipped and I'm VERY close to their distribution center so I'm hoping by Fri-Sat.

Then I still have to sit and wind all that yarn into a ball. Hope the mohair in it doesn't tangle as I do it. I wish there was an easier way. I may see if my son has any toys that could double as a swift, lmao.

Let me know when you get the pattern and I'll let you know when I get the needles. Then we can start by the 1st, lol.

YAY! I got my knitpick options set yesterday. Since I'm waiting for Kat so we can do a KAL I decided to do something small and fast so I'm doing the cutest pattern...and christmas tree shaped hat, lol.

I'm going to get those strips of sequins and some beads at walmart when I'm all done and that will be the "garland and ornaments".

If it doesn't fit me and I can't humiliate myself thru the Christmas season...I'm making my son wear it, LMAO!

Wish me luck Smile

I can't wait either Holly, lol. I think it's going to be kind of cute and wearing it for Christmas should be a hoot.

I'm on the prowl for a button that is star shaped and fairly big, yet not heavy to weigh the hat down. If anyone has any sites or knows where I can purchase a button like this please let me know. I don't really want to knit a star on the top, want it to look more like a tree, LOL

There are several site for the pull center balls but I like this one:
http://knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/misc.php

If you scroll down the page you will find a video that you can click on and watch. I think this is the easiest for me.

The Shawl is beautiful!!

Happy Knitting Very Happy Very Happy
