I love making my own bread. Have I had time to do it. No. But I love the fresh bread when it is still warm. YUM! I just make yeast bread though. I don't have a recipe for anything else. If anyone has any good bread recipes, I would be most appreciative! |

Have a look here. (I haven't tried any, but think perhaps I ought to!)
I once attempted to make pain au chocolat in our bread maker. Unfortunately I just ended up with a terrible mess as I forgot to put the hook in. _________________

| I love my breadmaker! I've started branching out and using the dough mode more: this year's hot cross buns were great! Rolls are super and I also tried the naan bread recipe! It worked very well! |

I feel a bit humbled saying I have a breadmaker when all you wonderful women are kneading and baking them yourselves. I tried this with gusto at first but my bread never managed to rise properly whatever I did.
SO I got a BM last year and I set it to 6am in the morning and it was amazing, all that bakery smell wafting through the house! We've never looked back and I don't think we've bought store bread in a whole year! I've learned about 15 different types to make now and am looking for more BM recipes. _________________ www.knitbox.blogspot.com |

Figgy! It's so good to see you! I was just thinking about you the other day. I hope you and your family are well.
Regarding a breadmaker, I don't have one simply because it's cheaper for me to knead the bread by hand. The children are all learning how to make bread, too. If I were ever to receive one as a gift, I certainly wouldn't turn it down. _________________ Help find a cure for ALS! |

| I don't have a bread maker also. Does anyone have any non breadmaker recipes or know of a good website I could find them? I am finally able to start doing those things again. |

I tried bread by hand as well, but kept leaving it to rise then forgetting about it and finding dollops of ghastly looking goo lying around... |

Thank you for thinking of me, Knittingmama! I've thought of all of you often, too.
We're doing fine. I've just been tired most evenings and usually nod off while knitting in front of the tv! Now that DS is 3 I've been taking him to kindergarten for a few hours and have been able to go to the local cultural center to do volunteer work with a women's cooperative.
I love homemade bread however it's made. And even the BM has turned out to be cheaper than store bought bread over the long term. We've saved a lot. But I'd still like to be able to achieve making bread or rolls by hand. _________________ www.knitbox.blogspot.com |

I just got a bread maker at christmas, and agree , it is so mucvh better than processed bread, AND you know what goes into it.
Reading this thread, I am hungry now! _________________ Pammi |

| I think this is one of the reasons-as well as money- why so many people are going back to old fashioned ways like growing a kitchen garden and making their own bread. Because you know where it's been and what's in it. |

| I've requested a bread maker to have on the boat - my DIL has one & I was so impressed with the different lovely breads she makes - I can't wait to have a go. |

I mentioned a few times that I would like to have a breadmaker. Imagine my suprise when I opened a big Christmas gift and there was a breadmaker...a very nice one. Now, imagine my continuing because Rat thinks it is "fun" and makes varying kinds of breads and rolls...and I get to help taste test them.
I hope yours brings you as much satisfaction. _________________ Have a mice day. |
