Norfolkknitter mentioned that this might be a good idea in one of the other threads. Who's interested, and when would you like to start?

I'm definitely interested, and have already had some thoughts on yarn and patterns. My current pattern choices are Mr Greenjeams or Abotanicity.

I'm happy to go with the flow for starting.

You beat me to starting a thread!!! I've been busy faffing with photos!!! Laughing

I like this one... http://www.knotions.com/patterns/series/raglan/unwrapped/directions.aspx ... thinking ahead for spring and summer...

Does it matter what pattern we do??? Or are we focussing on supporting each other through trying a new technique? I'm a bit flexible on starting times too as I've a Ravelry spinning swap to sort by the end of February...

That looks nice.

I'd say supporting each other learning a new technique, rather than all knitting the same. That way everyone can pick a pattern they really want to knit.

Those are all lovely. I will be watching this one from the sidelines, working on DH's Aran. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Sounds good to me... I've even got some very suitable yarn in the stash, but will need to buy the needles...

I think I'll be aiming to start the first week in March...

I've never knit a top down but I've been thinking I'd like to give it a go if I could find a pattern I liked. I like Mr Greenjeans best and I've got yarn in my stash that would do it. If you're not starting till March I might well be in. Is the sock knit-a-long starting in March too cos I was thinking of doing that one too.

Good job there's no finishing date Cool

If I find a pattern I like better can I do that one instead then? But I do like my cables.

How did I manage to post twice. Sorry Kathryn. Embarassed

You can do whichever pattern you prefer.

I like cables as well, which is part of the reason Mr Greenjeans is on my list. I'm not sure about the yarn I have for it - I think it may be a bit bright.

I've got a clover pink mix. I think it'll be rather nice.

I hope it's ok to join if I've already started. I cast on for this cardi before Christmas but decided it was coming out a bit big and was going to frog and put it to one side but when I tried it on today it seemed a better fit so have put it back otn.

This is my first topdown so it would be lovely to knit it along with others!!! I have just passed the armholes - the rows are getting longer and longer being a wrap cardi Shocked I have decided to add a bit of waist shaping - hope that works out Wink

The pattern is KP&S #263 & I am using Jaeger Matchmaker Merino Aran in a dark grey from stash and plan to do a contrast trim in pale blue Rowan Kid Classic.

Thank you!! I pinched the idea from a fellow Raveller Wink

I want to make Mr Greenjeans too at some point and I love the one from knotions as well (think I have the pattern but had forgotten about it).

And of course the February Lady Sweater - just can't decide whether it will suit me Confused

February Lady sweater is lovely but afraid that with it being 'swingy' and loose it may make me look bigger than I already am. Hermia on knitty is nice as well but have the same problem with that. And there are one or two on Elann.com, a lacy, cut away front one and a wrap cardigan. I think I''ll stick with Mr Greenjeans but will make it a bit longer. Don't like cropped anything for me.

Yvonne I am thinking the same Confused I keep looking at all the FLSs and they do seem to suit every shape and size but I know wide swingy patterns and anything cropped isn't good for my hips/tum Laughing I really don't know as it so pretty. I have seen some nice Mr Greenjeans that are slightly longer too and think I will do one like that when I get round to that pattern.

Thanks NK!! What yarn do you have for FLS??

I am enjoying the way this one is made so far and excited at the thought of NO SEWING UP Wink

I've got some Rowan Felted Tweed DK in a mottled green for the FLS... I've had it for years... Embarassed It would go really well with a green skirt I wear for work... and I could do with a more 'dressy' jacket type cardi...
