I am not keen on the wool. It's Patons Aran 65% wool and 35% acrylic. It feels a bit rough so am hoping it will soften in the wash. I did think of ripping it out and trying another wool, but then would have the problem of what to do with this. The colour isn't great either it looked a lighter shade online, but is a bit darker. I will carry on with it and see how I feel when it's done

Finish it up and wash it. If you don't really like the color, gift it to someone who would be pleased to have a handknit from you. Smile

Liz: is it Paton's Wool Blend Aran. That's what I'm using for DIL's waistcoat. It is harsh but I washed a swatch and it softens up quite a bit when washed.

Nothing done on my end. Just spent a lovely weekend with DD and we talk too much for me to focus on knitting anything more than a dishcloth. Laundry going now but hopefully this evening I'll be back on track.

It is Yvonne, I will hand wash and use a bit of conditioner when I finish. I thought it would be warmer in the bad weather

DH was watching football, so I knitted. yea! Grafting went well for the middle stocking (w/pat), but the 4 boarder sts didn't. I tried it once using the instructions I found for garter st, then I tried it backwards to the instructions and they both turned out the same.... two purl/bump rows together and two knit/smooth rows together.

But guess what, I can't see it from here (4 ft away) and I'm not even on a galloping horse (or cow). I love this.

It's washed and blocked and drying.

Very nice Nanette! You worked that up quickly! I'm just finishing up my first half and haven't started the fingerless gloves yet. I'm not good at doing more that one at a time. I like to have it finished before I can move on to the next (unless it's an afghan or something large like that).

Cyndy, the way I understand it, a KAL is not a race. Just do what you want at your own pace...ask for help, if you hit a snag. Wink
