Hi everyone

My name is Gillian and I live near Birmingham in the UK. It is 4.37 pm here on 4th November, and it looks very autumnal outside. The leaves are all changing colour rapidly now that the clocks have gone back one hour, but it looks so pretty (I have been to New England and realise that the UK cannot compete with you for leaf colours!).

I do enjoy knitting but am very slow. My yarn stash is coming along nicely, although my husband is beginning to wonder when I am going to stop buying. I look forward to popping in and out of KnittingHaven and learning more about knitting.

Gillian....I am so happy to meet you; I hope you do stop by soon and often. We love chatting with new folks.

I live in New Hampshire and I agree that our colors are fantastic; however the rain today has put the color right on the ground. Very Happy

Welcome from another colorful spot in the NE. The tempo of the clicks is not what is important, it's the needles clicking, at any tempo, that is a good thing Wink .

Hi knancy told me about this site not sure I have much time to socialise at present but I have already picked up a couple oftips from the hints page
I am in my last year of teaching- curriculum coordinator for DT in high achieving RC girls school in leafy London suburb via Hackney, Croydon and other challenging places in the UK . I finally got some postive, keen students. LOL
I only teach Food Tech now but always loved textiles and related skills. recently taken up knitting after many years and rapidly becoming a sock addict.
Currently researching retiring to Shropshire where I plan to knit and use up my huge stash of dyes, fabrics and stitching materials.
As Gillian says we have a fantastic Autumn this year - the shades of the trees remind me of Shetland wool colours
